I find the use of social media specifically and technology generally very interesting in the health care landscape. However, I couldn’t help but thinking while watching this podcast . . . is all that technology really necessary just listen to the patient? Essentially, the paradigm shift is 2-fold. Practitioners need to “partner” with patients in improving and maintaining health status and patients need to engage in their health and well being. Personally, I’m not sure I could talk to a doc with a blue tooth thingy on their face — too distracting!
