Surgical Decision Making… not always cut and dry

This is a Storify of a discussion that a number of healthcare professionals had about the treatment of a SLAP lesion or labral tear in a patient.   It is well recognized that many labral tears or SLAP lesions do not need surgery…. but some do.  How do we make that determination?  A lot of it has to do with your complaints, and the effect this is having on your quality of life.  I hope this provides you with meaningful insight into how tricky decision making can be… and therefore how meaningful second opinions can be in certain situations.
