I think it is a great idea. I can listen to them in the car or while i’m doing menial tasks at my desk. It is a nice break from reading article after article. Topics of interest? I’m working with several physician groups right now, one of my biggest struggles is getting the physicians to engage on a more direct level. Meaning instead of just sharing an article they like, actually adding some content of their own to it? Another good topic would be physicians fear of negative comments and how to deal with them?
Thanks,
Thanks Mike… Will get on that.

Dr. Luks:
Wow, fortuitous is the best word to describe running across your great blog!
I am putting together a website for the Internet changes in Medicine, and the topic I am working on this
morning is Orthopedic Blogs, and I stumbled upon your great site.
My website is all about things like your blog; great things are happening out there in the internet regarding medicine’s gradual integration into the Internet. My site is in the beta stage but check your listing in the “Orthopedic” Section under Specialities., in the “Orthopedic Blogs” section. I just put it in.
One of the changes, of course, brought about the internet is the ability of doctors to reach out to their patients, and potential patients with Blogs like yours, as well as the little-used Podcasts.
There is another websavvy doc, an Ophthalmologist from Vancouver, you might consider trading notes with; look in the Ophthamology Section, his blog is called “Whole Lotta Rob”. He seems to be pretty expeienced at Podcasting.
His blog address is
http://www.wholelottarob.com/
Give him a shout, he might give you some tips.
And, like Mike says above, it is a super idea for docs on the run, who, as you know, are busy enough as it is, and would love to learn in another way.
One illusion some people have is that they associate the word “Podcasting” with an iPod.
You don’t need an iPod to listen to a Podcast. A Podcast is a simple audio file that you listen to, at your convenience, as Mike said, driving to work, etc.
Good luck, your blog will grow, and so will your podcasts. I will do my best to let the world know about one of the most web-savvy Orthopods in the Universe!
Hope to hear from you!
