  • Thank you for this article. I had tears in my gluteus minimus tendons in both hips. My bursae were irritated secondarily due to the tears, just as you say. I had PRP on both sides by Dr. Brian Davis in Sacramento. It helped tremendously on the right side- I’m virtually pain free. The left side worked for a while but is starting to hurt again. I am active, walking a great deal, cycling and other exercise.

I know PRP doesn’t help everyone but it certainly helped me (and I followed all strength training, stretching and other instructions from my doctor to a tee). I think I may consider hip arthroscopy on my left side, even though the procedure is newer. I’m 55 and want to be able to be active for the rest of my life!

    • Lynn, the article is amazing. Thought I was loosing my mind with the pain & trying to explain the problems I am having. Now I can take this to & show this to him dr. & show to him. .I’m glad you did well with the therapy & PRP injection. what is that for? I have had so many injections that I’m afraid I’ll start leaking! lol. Thank you for showing that the treatments work.

  • WOW ! After 15 months on the most horriable pain I have endured, MRI, X-rays, and 6 mos of aqua therapy I FINALLY have FOUND it ! After reading this article I was so excited that I can hardly wait to see my Dr. and bring in this aritcle. “See, look at your notes Doc, Everything I have been saying all this time down to a T ! ” I was becoming desperate and late on Friday night, unable to sleep, the pain is totally unbearable ! I began researching soft tissue damage around the hip area and found this site. Amazing I can finally find someone else who has felt what I have been going through. It hasn’t been easy when virtually no person believes the pain level exists that you are living with. NOTHING helps the pain and I pray I am a candidate for surgery. Something stop the pain and let me walk more normal again .
