Social Media and Health Care … Physician Engagement

Howard J. Luks, MD Updated September 23, 2021

Featured image placeholder

One day a physician will look in the mirror and see a patient !

That patient will know where to look for evidence based, useful, actionable information they can employ to improve their chances of beating their disease.

Why wouldn’t that physician want to offer the same opportunity to all of their current and future patients?

My colleagues… it is time to engage, educate, share, listen, coach, mentor and make ourselves available to our patients where most of them can be found and are currently looking for information… online!   Right now, when a patient googles a disease— the first page is frequently full of mis-leading links with a slant towards industry or gimmicks.  We can change that!  We can actively participate with those who are trying to lead the way to a system which offers affordable, accessible, quality, cost conscious care!

Are you game ???

After all: We are ALL patients !
